While engaging a digital format exchange of architectural information is not unique in today’s architectural practice, the software a firm chooses to engage can set it apart. The decision to be made regarding the exchange of information is no longer a battle over format—digital versus analog—but a decision on which software platform to engage to provide the professional with the best opportunity to meet the objectives of the firm’s mission statement. It is for these reasons DKA Architecture has chosen Revit Architecture as the software to meet the firm’s objectives today and into the future. With its flexibility and ease of collaboration with other disciplines, Revit Architecture provides DKA the necessary support for the firm’s strategic goals toward sustainable practice. Revit’s ease of access to a rich database of information through schedule tools has proven value. Ease of learning has reduced ramp-up time and its associated costs, and ensured timely project delivery. DKA is providing these course offerings to help prepare our consultants and design collaborators to engage our clients in the design-build contracts which are becoming the new standard for architectural practice.

DKA’s Revit Manager is not only managing the software, he researches and trains staff on current software updates, best practice methods, and any other ancillary programs which are beneficial to the work they do. John Bund, AIA joined the DKA Staff in 2009 to head the Revit Development Group. His position as Revit Manager continues a professional path which started in 1987 with AutoCAD in practice. John has been a sole practitioner, as well as a Senior Architect at Washington State University and Project Manager for several noted projects in the Seattle area. John’s formal educational experience began with San Bernardino Valley College and continued at California Polytechnic University Pomona. He has also taken several classes on various CAD programs. Prior to John’s work at DKA he worked for Imaginit Technologies and Ideate Inc, resellers of AutoDESK software products. John’s role with these companies was to promote Revit to the AEC communities through demonstration and public speaking engagements. John and his wife Wendy live in Bothell, Washington with their daughter Taylor.
